These college students also want to give back and every single one of them came up to me after, shook my hand and either spoke of their own experiences involving cancer or how they were inspired by the stories I shared. Sometimes the hardest part about a personal tragedy is opening up to others so that they can be helped by your experiences, your transformations, and your emotion. By sharing my story with them and having them respond so openly was a gift.
I want to thank Brianna Dioses for continuing to share Nick's spirit and the work of the foundation. She gets it and understands the importance of giving to others and raising awareness about childhood cancer. I also want to thank the three groups who supported her and everyone who came to the event. You are making a difference.
Of course special thanks to my crew--Karen Patchell and Iris Marsal. They get the job done and more!
